The Nordic region remains one of Europe’s most stable and sophisticated M&A markets. Strong underlying economies, low inflation and low government debt levels have helped sustain steady growth across the region.

Mats Bremberg, Head of Greenhill Nordic, highlights how private equity plays a central role in Nordic dealmaking, with roughly 14% of all European private equity investments directed toward Nordic portfolio companies last year.

From a mergers & acquisitions perspective, the Nordics have maintained volumes on par with France, and double those of Spain, representing roughly half of the U.K. market’s deal value. The resurgence of the IPO market is now restoring confidence among both financial sponsors and corporates, and the region is now poised to remain a key driver of dealmaking in Europe.
