Michal Katz, Head of Investment & Corporate Banking, Mizuho Americas, participated in the panel “Public vs. Private: Capital Market Shifts and the Road Back to IPOs” at the Forbes Iconoclast Summit in New York City on June 3, 2026. The theme of this year’s marquee event was “Global Icons: A New Playbook for the Road Ahead,” which focused on the most critical issues impacting the global economy and markets today to help investors gain a competitive edge.

Michal joined the stage with Marcelo Claure, Partner & Co-Chair, Brightstar Capital Partners, and Lynn Martin, President, NYSE Group, for a discussion moderated by Forbes Assistant Managing Editor Steve Bertoni. Michal shared insights that each market needs a healthy counterpart. While the center of gravity for capital formation has shifted to the private markets over the past few decades, the pendulum is now swinging back toward the public markets with IPOs gaining momentum and constructive financing markets. In short, Michal said, “I view the public and private markets as an ‘and,’ not an ‘or.’”

Against continued uncertainty, 2026 is shaping up to be a busy one for capital markets and dealmaking.
