London, 3 February 2022: Mizuho International, the London based securities and investment banking arm of Mizuho Financial Group, has announced the appointment of Helen Rodriguez as Head of Credit Research, EMEA.
Rodriguez will play a key role in growing Mizuho’s credit platform and client franchise across EMEA. Rodriguez joined Mizuho late last year and reports into Peter Chatwell, Head of Multi-Asset Strategy.
Commenting on the appointment, Chatwell said, “I’m delighted to have Helen on board. Her hire gives us a strong foundation in fundamental credit research at a time in the market cycle when its relevance will be resurgent, complementing our existing strengths in macro analysis.”
A veteran of European Credit markets, Rodriguez brings with her over two decades experience. She worked on the inaugural European High Yield bond at Merrill Lynch in 1998 and set up the award-winning European High Yield Research team at Deutsche Bank in 2000. Rodriguez had previously been a credit analyst in the corporate finance department at JP Morgan in London. She started her banking career in the LBO team at Bankers Trust in Madrid. Most recently, she built the European Retail and Consumer team at Creditsights into a market leading presence. She also directed the company’s Legal and ESG research in London. In 2020, she directed the London research response to the outbreak of Covid-19 developing new research frameworks to price the changing risk across European credit markets.
