Mizuho EMEA appoints Fahim Rahman as Head of Derivatives

Appointment underscores Mizuho’s commitment to growing its markets platform in the region and further build its global offering

London, 9 October: Mizuho EMEA, part of Mizuho Financial Group, one of the largest financial institutions in the world, today announces the appointment of Fahim Rahman as Head of Derivative Risk Solutions, EMEA.

Fahim will continue to develop Mizuho’s Derivatives, Risk Advisory and FX services which is one of the strategic growth pillars for the EMEA Corporate and Investment Bank. 

Fahim joins from UBS where he was Head of Corporate Fixed-Income Solutions, EMEA, having previously held a similar leadership role at Credit Suisse, as Head of EMEA Derivative Solutions.

Fahim will report directly to Asif Godall, Head of Markets, EMEA.

Fahim’s appointment signals another strategic milestone for Mizuho as it advances its EMEA franchise, enhancing the firm's position as a global financing leader with unique ties to Japan and Asian capital flows. It complements the appointment of Vikram Dadlani as Head of Credit Trading, Mizuho EMEA, in September. Also reporting to Asif Godall, Vikram will play a pivotal role in further strengthening Mizuho EMEA’s markets platform. Additionally, Mizuho agreed in July to acquire Augusta & Co Limited, a leading independent specialist financial advisory firm serving the Renewable Energy and Energy Transition sectors.
