Appointments further advance Mizuho’s infrastructure and energy transition client offering in the region
Dubai, 5 June 2026: Mizuho Financial Group today announces the appointments of Guido Musso and Tarvinder Basi, further strengthening its capabilities in infrastructure, energy, commodities, transportation, and export credit agency (ECA) financing in EMEA.
Both executives will play central roles in expanding Mizuho's infrastructure and structured financing platform across the sectors driving the region's economic transformation - from energy transition and transportation to digital infrastructure, data centres and AI.
Their appointments underscores Mizuho's continued strategic investment in building a leading Corporate &Investment Banking franchise across the Middle East, Africa, Türkiye and Central Asia. Based in the UAE, Muso and Basi are strategically positioned at the intersection of sovereign capital, energy transition and infrastructure development, supporting clients across the region while further strengthening Mizuho's connectivity and execution capabilities across EMEA.
Guido Musso joins Mizuho as Managing Director, Infrastructure & Advisory. He brings extensive international experience in corporate, project and export finance, with a strong track record in shipping, offshore, aviation, infrastructure and commodities financing. Prior to Mizuho, Musso held senior leadership roles at Macquarie Group and Citi, where he served as Global Head of Shipping and Offshore, Export and Agency Finance. Earlier in his career, he worked in HSBC’s Project and Export Finance division.
Tarvinder Basi joins as Executive Director, Infrastructure & Advisory, bringing deep expertise in commodities and global markets, as well as structured and ECA-backed financing. He was previously a Director within Macquarie’s Commodities and Global Markets division. Prior to that he was at Citi, initially within the Export Credit Agency finance team and then the Project and Infrastructure Finance Team.

Musso and Basi will be based inthe UAE with Basi reporting into Musso. Musso will report into Salvatore Ciccarelli, Co-Head of Infrastructure and Advisory, EMEA and Ahmed Siddiqi, Regional Head of Corporate & Investment Bank for the Middle East, Africa, Türkiyeand Central Asia Caucasus (MEA).
