Mizuho wins Debt House of the Year and ESG Loan House of the Year at Global Banking and Markets Awards

Recent recognition reflects Mizuho’s leading role in mobilising international capital, financing the energy transition and delivering landmark debt transactions across the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia, 15 September 2026: Mizuho EMEA is pleased to announce that it has been named both Debt (Bonds and Loans) House of the Year and ESG Loan House of the Year at the Global Banking & Markets Saudi Arabia Awards 2026, recognising the continued growth and strength of Mizuho’s Corporate & Investment Banking franchise in one of the world's most dynamic capital markets.

The dual recognition underscores Mizuho's leadership in connecting global capital with Saudi Arabia's strategic development priorities, combining deep local relationships with the firm’s global CIB capabilities and differentiated access to capital across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.

The Debt (Bonds and Loans) House of the Year award recognised Mizuho's breadth of activity across Saudi Arabia's debt capital and loan markets. During the review period, Mizuho underwrote or coordinated approximately US$18.6 billion of financing, while the firm's capital markets franchise secured 18 bookrunner mandates for Saudi issuers across a wide range of sectors.

The ESG Loan House of the Year award recognised Mizuho’s leadership in financing Saudi Arabia’s energy transition and sustainable development ambitions, including acting as Green Loan Coordinator and lender on approximately US$5.9 billion of renewable energy project financing supporting around 15GW of new solar and wind capacity.

Commenting on the awards, Ahmed Siddiqi as Regional Head of Corporate & Investment Bank for Middle East, Afrcia, Türkiye & Central Asia said:

"This recognition from GBM reflects the strength and momentum of Mizuho's integrated CIB franchise in Saudi Arabia and our long-term strategic commitment to the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia continues to be one of the most important and dynamic markets globally, and we see significant opportunities to further support our clients across infrastructure, energy transition, financial institutions, capital markets and strategic advisory"

"What makes this recognition particularly meaningful is that it reflects both the trust our client place in us and the strength of collaboration across Mizuho’s global network.  By combining our differentiated access to Asian capital with deep structuring expertise and a strong commitment to sustainable finance, we are proud to help support the Kingdom's long-term economic transformation and development objectives."

Mizuho has continued to deepen its commitment to Saudi Arabia, including through the establishment of its MEA regional Headquarters in Riyadh and the continued expansion of its corporate & investment banking capabilities across the Kingdom. The firm’s growing franchise supports sovereigns, sovereign wealth funds, corporates and financial institutions across capital markets, advisory and sustainable finance, while connecting clients with Mizuho’s global network.
