A Message from the President & CEO of Mizuho Trust & Banking

Continuing to earn the faith and trust of clients and society
As President & CEO of Mizuho Trust & Banking, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your continued interest and support.
In Japan, the government is continuing to pursue its policy plan to promote the country as a leading asset management center, aiming to create a positive cycle of growth and distribution. Doing so will require further drawing out the effects of the investment chain by enhancing governance among companies and asset owners, in addition to other measures. Standing alongside business concerns are Japan’s diversifying societal challenges, most prominently an aging population and declining birthrate that is also reducing the available labor pool. In this context, companies and business owners’ medium- to long-term, substantive initiatives have taken on even greater importance.
Given such a business environment, trust banking must rise to the public’s expectations and play an outsize role in two complementary respects: facilitating a prosperous society where everyone can enjoy stable living and striking the right balance between corporate growth investment and capital efficiency to generate additional value.
At Mizuho Trust & Banking, we count among our strengths our real estate brokerage services, which are focused on corporate clients and large-scale properties in a market that sees annual sales more than JPY 6 trillion. We also provide clients with high-quality consulting that positively contributes to ongoing development of family businesses and to enhancement of corporate value. By helping clients strengthen their corporate governance and human capital, seamlessly pass on their assets and businesses, and make use of charitable trusts, we are responding in concrete ways to the challenges confronting society, companies, and business owners. This supports medium- to long-term growth and, in turn, progress towards a sustainable society. In the pension and custody domains, we cover our clients’ wide-ranging needs for building and managing assets and ensure they will be able to rely on said assets well into the future.
While always staying ahead of societal and economic trends, we are interconnecting our capabilities in trust with the strengths of other Mizuho group companies to put forth optimal solutions for the increasingly varied challenges of our clients and society, continuing to earn their faith and trust.
We appreciate your continued support and will make every effort to not only meet, but exceed, your expectations.
