The Bank of Japan is likely to keep interest rates unchanged at 0.75% at its policy meeting on April 27–28.

This has been widely reported by various media outlets, and the market is now pricing in less than a 10% probability of an April rate hike. It would not be surprising if the BOJ chooses this course, given the ongoing situation in the Middle East, recent economic indicators, and the lack of urgency expressed by both the BOJ and the Government of Japan.

So the question is: What comes next?

Mizuho invites you to an in‑depth analysis of the Bank of Japan’s April Policy Meeting.

In this session, we will examine whether Governor Ueda provides any new clues on future policy guidance during his post‑meeting press conference, as well as review the Economic Outlook Report published on the same day.

The discussion will be led by Shunsuke Kobayashi (Chief Economist, Mizuho Securities Tokyo), who will offer his expert interpretation of the BOJ’s decision, and moderated by Evelyne Gomez Liechti (Multi‑Asset Strategist, Mizuho International Plc).

We look forward to welcoming you to what promises to be a timely, insightful, and market‑relevant conversation.
