Celebrating International Women’s Day 2026 at Mizuho

Mizuho was excited to mark International Women’s Day with a fireside chat featuring renowned journalist and broadcaster Karen Tso, Co‑Anchor of CNBC’s ‘Squawk Box Europe’.

International Women’s Day is an important moment in our calendar, giving us the opportunity to recognise the achievements of women across our business and beyond. By convening engaging conversations with global voices such as Karen Tso, we aim to deepen understanding and encourage action toward a more inclusive workplace culture.

Colleagues from across EMEA joined us in London and online for an insightful conversation exploring Karen’s upbringing, career and perspectives on female leaders.

Bringing the #GiveToGain theme to life

This year’s International Women’s Day theme, #GiveToGain, encourages generosity, collaboration, and the understanding that progress accelerates when people and organisations lift one another up. The fireside chat with Karen Tso brought this theme to life in a powerful way.

Drawing on years of reporting from major global events and a career that has taken her from London to Singapore, Karen offered a truly international perspective. Her interviews with world leaders, CEOs, and many of the most influential female figures in business and politics have given her rare insight into what leadership and resilience look like at the highest levels.

Throughout the discussion, Karen highlighted the impact of leaders who “open the door” for others and the importance of collaboration, mentorship, and advocacy in helping women advance. Her message was clear:

“Know what you want and be determined. Being a journalist, you don’t know what you’re turning up for on the day, so be ready —but also be collaborative, have a strong leadership style, and lift women behind you on your journey. Open the door where you can.”

Mizuho is delighted to have celebrated International Women’s Day and hosted the fireside conversation with Karen Tso. We are committed to building a workplace where inclusion is embedded in how we lead, collaborate, and support one another.
