As President & CEO of Mizuho Bank, I would like to express my deep appreciation for your continued interest and support.

The current times find all of us confronting overwhelming change. Globally, geopolitical tension is on the rise, polarization and disparity are growing ever wider, and digitalization and AI are making rapid advances. For Japan, the aging of the population and the declining birthrate are leading to shortages in both labor and in successors for businesses, while interest rates have recently returned to normal after an extended period of monetary easing.
Under these circumstances, our retail customers’ lives and corporate clients’ business activities are shifting day-to-day. Accordingly, the role we must fulfill as a bank is also shifting to become more multifaceted.

As a catalyst for change, we will continue to be a bank that supports the endeavors of all of our customers and employees. To that end, we are working to swiftly detect new trends both among our customer base and in broader society and provide the services our customers truly need right now, in line with our corporate Purpose of “Proactively innovate together with our clients for a prosperous and sustainable future.”

Pursuant to the USA PATRIOT Act and final rules issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, a U.S. bank or a U.S. broker-dealer in securities (a "Covered Financial Institution") is required to obtain certain information from any "Foreign Bank" that maintains a correspondent account with it.

As permitted by the final rules, Mizuho Bank, Ltd. has prepared a Global Certification for use by any financial institution that believes it requires a USA PATRIOT Act Certification from a Mizuho Bank, Ltd. entity, for example, an overseas branch of Mizuho Bank, Ltd.

Please use this Certification instead of asking an individual Mizuho Bank, Ltd. business to complete a separate Certification form. If the particular Mizuho Bank, Ltd. business that maintains a correspondent account with your institution is not listed in our Certification, or if you have any questions with regard to this Certification, please advise us by e-mailing us at
