Mr Imafuku was appointed to the role of Managing Director, Deputy President of Mizuho International on 16 May 2024. He also serves as the Head of Business Strategy, EMEA.  

Mr Imafuku joined Mizuho in 2000 and has since developed his career having worked for several of the Mizuho Financial Group companies, including Mizuho Bank, Ltd., Mizuho Securities Co., Ltd., and Mizuho Securities USA, LLC.  

With a keen focus on global markets businesses, he has undertaken a range of strategic and financial roles within the business, including Director, Global Markets Coordination Department and Director, Corporate Development & Strategy department. Most recently, Mr Imafuku was Managing Director and Corporate Officer, Global Markets Division reporting into the Global Head of Markets.

He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors at the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA).

Mr Imafuku holds Master of Laws Degree’s from Northwestern University School of Law and New York University School of Law.
