Making Impact Beyond Banking

Beyond our core businesses, Mizuho Bank Singapore has actively sought to connect deeply with society. Committed to creating a positive impact in our community, we launched the Mizuho Singapore Foundation in July 2024, dedicated to making a positive impact beyond banking. We dedicate our efforts to supporting low-income families, children, education, and climate-related causes. These initiatives reflect our unwavering commitment to making a positive impact by enriching lives and uplifting communities where we operate.

Volunteering allows our staff to engage meaningfully and find a sense of purpose beyond their professional roles. To encourage more to do their part, our employees will receive two days of paid volunteering leave annually.

“We believe in creating value far beyond financial transactions. By serving underserved communities sustainably and investing in social impact through Mizuho Singapore Foundation, we are working to build a more inclusive and sustainable future - one where opportunity reaches those who need it most.”

Josephine Lok,

Mizuho Bank Singapore CEO

Low-Income Families

At Mizuho, we believe strong communities begin with supporting those facing financial hardships. By uplifting low-income families through meaningful CSR initiatives, we hope to provide greater stability and opportunities, while help individuals and families build a brighter and more sustainable future for themselves and their communities.

Sustainability

Mizuho remains committed to investing in future generations through initiatives that support both education and environmental sustainability. By fostering learning opportunities, including Programmes such as the Mizuho Scholarship with NUS, and championing environmentally conscious practices alongside climate-related CSR, we aim to create a meaningful and lasting impact that empowers communities and contributes to a greener, more sustainable future.

Children

Children are the foundation of tomorrow’s society, so Mizuho believes that nurturing them is a step closer to building a brighter future. Through our CSR efforts, Mizuho hopes to support children by creating opportunities for learning and development, empowering them to grow with confidence and hope for the future.

“Over the past 2 years, we have had the privilege of working alongside AWWA on several initiatives, and we remain dedicated to building genuine and lasting relationships. It was truly inspiring to see our volunteers connect with the seniors and share in moments of joy and discovery. We are grateful for the opportunity to support AWWA and look forward to continuing our partnerships in making a positive impact.”
Koichi Zaiki, APAC CEO, Mizuho Bank

AWWA Community Partner
“Volunteering with Mizuho through our community engagement activities has been deeply rewarding. After the briefings, our team works together to prepare materials and support the programme, then spend time running simple activities and interacting with our beneficiaries. Their smiles and small moments of connection remind me how much encouragement and consistency matter. I learnt to communicate more patiently, celebrate tiny wins, and work closely with my colleagues. I volunteer to give back, and I always leave feeling inspired…”
Lee Sang Jin Luke, Asia Pacific Corporate Finance‍
“I started volunteering because I wanted to connect with the local community beyond my workplace. Since then, I have taken part in a range of CSR activities—from beach clean-ups to a lantern-making session at a senior care facility. One experience I will always remember was a CSR event with seniors at the aquarium. After the activity, one participant reached out to thank me, and that simple message truly made my day.My biggest takeaway is that giving back does not have to be grand to be meaningful. Contributing in small ways has been deeply rewarding, and it is a reminder that we all thrive when we support one another.”
Ryosuke Nishino, Corporate Planning and Coordination
“The Mizuho Singapore Foundation reflects what we stand for: using our resources, partnerships, and volunteer spirit to make a positive difference where we live and work. Every contribution—time, skills, or funding—helps build a stronger community for Singapore.”
