Scam warning
There are new phishing scams targeting bank customers. Scammers are using more advanced technology to send automated emails from these platforms to impersonate the bank and other trusted organisations.
These series of phishing scams have been effective because emails sent out by the legitimate platforms can bypass standard email security protocols to reach a large audience, spoofing and impersonating as the actual sender.
What You Should Look Out For:
- Fraudulent emails may claim there are unauthorized transactions or suspicious account activity and ask you to call a number provided in the message.
- These numbers can appear genuine but may be used by scammers posing as bank staff to obtain your personal information or account credentials.
Mizuho Bank Singapore Branch would like to remind all our customers to be aware and cautious if you receive any phone call or electronic communication that may impersonate as Mizuho Bank staff.
- Customers are reminded and pay extra cautious as follow:
- Do not provide personal information such as NRIC / Credit card information or Login Credentials including MFA or OTP.
- Do not perform any monetary transactions upon request by unverified person.
- Do not click on any URL links, scan QR codes, or dial-in numbers provided in any
- communication platforms whether by emails, SMSes, or other forms of messaging channels.
- Keep devices and applications such as anti-virus up to date and do not install any unknown applications / software.
