Mizuho International announces appointments within its Global Markets EMEA business

London, 30 May 2019: Mizuho International today announced key appointments within its Global Markets EMEA business.

Roy Martins has been appointed as Managing Director, Head of EMEA Institutional Sales and Client Relationship Management, Global Markets. The role will report in to Asif Godall, Head of Global Markets, EMEA who joined Mizuho International in March this year. Martins’ appointment is effective 3 June 2019. Martins will have responsibility for the institutional client franchise across all asset classes in the EMEA Global Markets business. Martins will also lead cross-border collaboration for institutional clients for Mizuho International. Martins’ career spans 20 years in investment banking in the City, building market-leading sales and financing product franchises at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley.
 

Claus Jorgensen has been appointed as Managing Director, Head of EMEA Credit Trading, Global Markets reporting in to Godall. Jorgensen’s appointment is effective, 3 June 2019. Jorgensen will be responsible for High Yield, Investment Grade, Financials, Emerging Markets and Credit Repo.

Jorgensen brings with him 21 years of experience across a wide range of capital markets activities. Until recently Jorgensen was Head of High Yield and Strategy at Fairwater Capital LLP.
 

Mahmoud Atalla has been appointed as Managing Director, Head of Special Situations and Illiquids Trading, reporting in to Godall. Atalla’s appointment is also effective 3 June 2019.

Atalla has 20 years of experience in alternative assets. He was Co-Head of the Global Loans & Special Situations Group at HSBC, and Head of UK Principal Investments and Private Equity, having previously worked at Montagu Private Equity, as well as Abu Dhabi-based Gulf Capital.
 

Amandine Triadu has been appointed as Executive Director, Head of Credit and Emerging Markets Repo, effective 21 May 2019. Triadu will report in to Jorgensen. Triadu will be responsible for trading and developing Mizuho International’s client oriented Repo activities with a focus on non-government securities.

Triadu spent seven years at Nomura where she was a Credit and SSA/Covered bonds repo trader. Triadu brings her experience in repo trading with a proven ability to enhance an institution’s client franchise.
 

Stefan Stefanov has been appointed as Director, Euro CLO Specialist and will report in to Juan-Carlos Martorell and Andrew Feachem in the Securitised Products and Structured Finance team. Stefanov will join in July from Commerzbank where he was Director in the Treasury Investment Office. In this newly created role, he will be performing a structuring, origination and syndication role for Euro Collateralised Loan Obligations (CLOs).

About Roy Martins:
Martins’ career spans over 20 years of investment banking experience in the City. Until last year, he was at Bank of America Merrill Lynch for four years where he was Managing Director of Equities, running European Equity Sales. Prior to that Martins was the Head of Prime Services Europe at Credit Suisse from 2007 to 2014, taking the franchise to number one in Europe (as defined by Eurohedge). In 1995, Martins joined Morgan Stanley, where he helped build the European financing products business. Outside of his career, Martins is a trustee of Pratham UK, an Indian charity started by UNICEF and which has educated over 40 million children. In recognition of his charitable efforts, Martins was selected to carry the Olympic torch in 2012.
 

About Claus Jorgensen:
Jorgensen brings with him 21 years of experience across a wide range of capital markets activities. Until recently Jorgensen was Head of High Yield and Strategy at Fairwater Capital LLP. He started his career as a Senior Accountant in Copenhagen. He then moved to London to take up the position of a Credit Trader with Citigroup/ Salomon Brothers. Throughout his career, he has worked for UBS as a Senior Credit Trader and spent seven years with HSBC as Co-head of Credit Flow Trading in London.
 

About Mahmoud Atalla:
Atalla has 20 years of experience in alternative assets, latterly as Co-Head of the Global Loans & Special Situations Group at HSBC, where he built and ran the distressed debt and loan trading business across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas; he was previously Head of UK Principal Investments and Private Equity and a founding board member of the UK Business Growth Fund, now the biggest growth capital investor in the UK. Atalla has worked in London, New York, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, as an Investment Manager with Montagu Private Equity and as Managing Director, Private Equity at Gulf Capital. He is a founding board member of HRH Prince of Wales’ Mosaic mentoring initiative.
 

About Amandine Triadu:
Until April 2019, Triadu was with Nomura International plc for seven years where she was a Credit (DM) and SSA/Covered bonds repo trader in the five major currencies. From 2007-2011, she was with BNP Paribas Fortis (based in Brussels) as a Credit (EM/DM) and SSA/Covered bonds repo trader in Euro and US Dollars.
 

About Stefan Stefanov:
Stefanov was with Commerzbank for three years where he was Vice President in Credit Portfolio Management responsible for analysing and investing in new issues as well as managing a large portfolio of distressed and performing structured credit assets. Stefanov has previously worked for KKR Credit, Credit Suisse Securities and BNP Paribas Assurance. He began his career in 2001 as an actuary at Allianz France.
