Meet Team Mizuho

Michelle Wie West, LPGA Icon

Ayaka Furue, LPGA Tour Player

Rose Zhang, LPGA Tour Player and 2023 Mizuho Americas Open Champion

As a leading corporate and investment bank in the Americas, we long admired the LPGA as a natural ally in furthering shared core values of inclusion and innovation. We envisioned a unique LPGA partnership built on opportunity, equity, and advancing the next generation of talent. Together with the LPGA, AJGA, Liberty National, and tournament host Michelle Wie West, we created a purpose-driven event that will promote women athletes and set new standards of competition and collaboration.

LPGA icon and Major Champion, Michelle Wie West is a trailblazer on and off the golf course. After stepping away from professional golf to focus on family and advocacy, she accepted Mizuho Americas’ invitation to host its first-ever LPGA tournament, based on shared values and commitment to making an outsized impact on women athletes, youth, and society.

Showcasing the stars of today alongside the future of the game, 120 LPGA players will compete alongside 24 top-ranked junior girls on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Tour, creating an unprecedented week of education and access to inspire the next generation of LPGA Tour players.;

In 2026 and 2027, the Mizuho Americas Open will be hosted at the Mountain Ridge Country Club, before returning to its long-term home at Liberty National. Mountain Ridge Country Club, founded in 1912 in West Orange, NJ and relocated a few miles away to West Caldwell in 1929, features an 18-hole golf course designed by famed architect Donald Ross. The course has hosted several notable championships, including the 2012 USGA Senior Amateur Championship and the 2021 LPGA Cognizant Founder's Cup.

Be part of the production when the LPGA makes history with a tournament featuring both Pros and Juniors. The Mizuho Americas Open is looking for volunteers to ensure smooth tournament play in support of tournament officials, the players, and Liberty National personnel. It is an opportunity to be part of an inaugural event that could become New York’s next great sports tradition. Volunteers will receive branded merchandise in conjunction with their role.
