Mizuho Americas Donates 15,000 Masks to Hospitals

Across the United States, and internationally, doctors and nurses are struggling with a dwindling supply of PPE. With our disaster readiness supplies, we were able to donate 15,000 masks to local hospitals.

Honoring Black History Month and the MADE Network

The Mizuho African Descent Employees Network, or MADE, was founded in 2018 to foster cultural awareness, inclusion, and appreciation for the value of diversity as it relates to professionals of African descent and the broader community.

Developing community

Under the federal and state Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), our US commercial bank, Mizuho Bank (USA), has received an “Outstanding” CRA rating for meeting the needs of our community, particularly in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods through community development loans, investments, grants and services.

Employee Community Involvement

At Mizuho Americas, we champion uplifting the communities where we live and work, encouraging employees to support the nonprofits they care about through volunteering and by providing matching gifts.  Employees can double their personal donations and impact with matching gifts year-round.

Taking the time

Our ongoing volunteer programs are dedicated to addressing local needs in the Americas, empowering employees to make a meaningful impact. These initiatives encompass skills-based and hands-on activities aimed at underserved youth, including mentoring and college and career readiness workshops; and addressing basic needs such as hunger relief through meal service and packing projects.

Community Service

Work Readiness

Mizuho volunteers support nonprofit workforce development partners by conducting mock interviews, reviewing resumes, and providing career readiness advice.

Community Events

Mizuho sponsors local initiatives in support of community organizations throughout the year, including the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge, Japan Day, and more.

Hunger Relief

Employees volunteer to serve meals year-round at local community centers and supportive housing facilities.

Earth Month

In recognition of Earth Month, Mizuho employees volunteer for environmental projects in our communities including park improvement and urban farming.

Financial Education

As part of Mizuho's global commitment to financial education, Mizuho volunteers lead financial literacy workshops to help youth strengthen their personal finance skills.

Donation Drives

Mizuho staff support local children and families by partnering with community organizations to donate and distribute school supplies and year-end holiday gifts.
