What surprised you about Mizuho?
How welcoming and supportive Mizuho is of its people. Coming over as part of an acquisition, my new colleagues were incredibly supportive and welcoming (not often the case in investment banking). They were eager to share best practices and support my growth, even in the first year.

What are Mizuho's culture and people like?
Mizuho is methodical and thoughtful in its approach to change but focused on the long term. It’s clear that management views its people as key to its success, supporting a respectful, collegial environment.

How have you grown since joining Mizuho?
Leadership. With Mizuho growing so quickly over the last year both organically and through acquisition, I’ve worked closely with my colleagues to spearhead change via best practices and streamlining internal processes to manage our fast growing portfolio.

What’s one thing you've learned while at Mizuho or in the industry?
Stay focused on your clients (external and internal)—it will always payoff over the long term.
