Mizuho’s Utilities Team is known for extensive regulatory relationships, strong corporate access, and its breadth (37 stocks) of industry coverage (regulated electric, gas, water, and IPPs). The group continually produces actionable thematic research on the Trump administration’s plan for coal plant retirements, a comparison of each utilities O&M spending per kWh, the impact inflation has had on customer utility bills, and an Electric Utility Primer that continues to be an investors first stop towards understanding the challenging sector. The team also works closely with our regulated 3-person Gas Utilities team and 3-person Renewables and Clean Energy team.

At industry conferences such as EEI and AGA we provide investors access to over 20 electric and gas utilities (inAnthony joined Mizuho in January 2019 as a senior analyst based in New York, covering the utilities sector. Prior to Mizuho, Anthony worked at KeyBanc and Jefferies & Company. He has been recognized as Starmine’s #1 ranked earnings estimator in the electric utility sector and designated a Rising Star by The Wall Street Journal. He spent approximately 17 years as a sell-side utility analyst and has industry experience as an engineer with Consolidated Edison. Analyst Bio
Nitin joined Mizuho in October 2022 as a senior analyst leading the U.S. Oil & Gas research team. Prior to Mizuho, Nitin was senior analyst at Wells Fargo, where he developed the U.S. E&P equity research franchise that was recognized as Runner Up in the 2021 Institutional Investor All America Poll. He previously served in similar roles at Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, Millennium Partners, and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Nitin began his career in risk management at Ernst & Young. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Economics from Franklin & Marshall College and an MBA from Columbia University.
