Tokyo, March 23, 2018 – Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. and four of its group companies1 have received the Nadeshiko Brand designation recognizing outstanding effort in the empowerment of women in the workplace.

Mizuho was selected for its enterprise-wide policies and proven results in placing women’s advancement as a central part of its business strategy. In particular, Mizuho’s strategic talent development programs assisting women in advancing their careers throughout different life stages and in line with their specific career goals were cited.

Mizuho was also commended for changes to its performance evaluation and talent management practices, as well as for efforts to transform managers’ mindsets through unconscious bias training.

The Nadeshiko Brand designation was implemented in 2012 to showcase Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE)-listed enterprises that could be attractive stocks for investors looking to invest in companies taking steps to improve corporate value over the medium- to long-term. This not only encourages investment in the designated companies, but also aims to accelerate TSE-listed companies’ efforts to promote women’s advancement.
