In response to the devastation of the earthquake that struck northern Pakistan and India on October 8, 2005, Mizuho Financial Group's domestic offices took part in a donation drive.
Along with the donations collected through the activity, a contribution from the Mizuho Charity Fund (funded by employee contribution), and an additional donation by Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. were also made making Mizuho's total donation amount to JPY 10,270,895 (USD 84,988.78). Donations were presented to the Japanese Red Cross Society in Japan.
