Mizuho Securities Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Koichi Iida, "Mizuho Securities"), a core group company of Mizuho Financial Group (President & CEO: Tatsufumi Sakai), announced that Mizuho Securities Europe GmbH ("Mizuho Securities Europe"), established in Frankfurt as a subsidiary of Mizuho International plc (a UK subsidiary of Mizuho Securities), was granted a MiFID investment services license by BaFin (Germany's "Federal Financial Supervisory Authority").
Mizuho Securities Europe continues to carry out preparations to commence business operations in March 2019, which in the event of a hard Brexit scenario will allow for a smooth and uninterrupted continuation of origination and trading activities with clients.
