Mizuho signs MOU for business cooperation with the China Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA)

April 24, 2019

Mizuho Bank, Ltd. (President & CEO: Koji Fujiwara) and Mizuho Bank (China), Ltd. have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for business cooperation with the China Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA). We are the first non–Chinese financial institution to sign an MOU for business cooperation with CIPA.

CIPA was established in 2003 under the Ministry of Commerce of China. In promoting the “Bring In” and “Go Global” strategies, it supports the national effort to attract foreign companies to China as well as provides support to Chinese companies investing overseas. It facilitates cross–border investment in and outside China through such means as organizing events, site tours, and training.

Based on this MOU, we will work with CIPA to share information on investment and alliance strategies of Japanese and Chinese companies as well as trends in medical, high–tech, and other industries. The two institutions will also be jointly organizing various investment promoting events. Through these efforts, we will facilitate business cooperation between Japanese and Chinese enterprises and provide enhanced support to companies investing in and/or entering China.
