Donation to support healthcare workers combating COVID-19 in India

May 31, 2021

We would like to offer our deepest sympathy to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and express our heartfelt respect and appreciation to front-line healthcare workers fighting against the disease every day.

Mizuho Bank, Ltd. (President & CEO: Koji Fujiwara) has decided to donate INR 30 million (approximately JPY 45 million) to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) in India, for the purpose of supporting local healthcare workers as the country is experiencing a serious surge in COVID-19 cases.

The PM CARES Fund is India’s state-owned fund established for the purpose of addressing public health emergencies like the one caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund will be mainly used to provide artificial respirators and other supplies to hospitals.

Our thoughts are with our friends in the affected regions and we hope for the earliest possible end to the pandemic.
