What do you do at Mizuho?

I oversee several areas that fall under marketing and communications, including Brand Management & Creative Services, Digital Marketing & Social Media, Media Relations & Internal Communications, and Corporate Sponsorships & Events. My team is driving our successful branding efforts under a new corporate and investment bank business model that is helping to move our firm up the league tables, growing our market share, and attracting top talent and clients.

How is Mizuho different from other places you've worked?

Mizuho truly offers a culture of entrepreneurial opportunity. I am constantly impressed by the free flow of ideas coming from all levels of the firm and the dynamic of diverse opinions from different life experiences and backgrounds. It's the people, products, and principles here that make me excited to come to work every day.

What’s one thing you've learned while at Mizuho or in the industry?

It's critical to maintain a work-life balance. As a career-oriented mother, I always advise those in the early stages of their careers not to lose sight of what's important...that is, what gives you real purpose and satisfaction in life. For me, I'm most proud to be a mom of three amazing adult children. With my supportive husband, I've been able to balance a successful career with a busy life outside of work.

What’s a particularly proud moment you’ve had here?

I joined Mizuho to build something from the ground up and am proud to say we have evolved into a full-service, digital-first, in-house marketing team. Our accomplishments have been numerous and so many of them stand out. At this point, we are limited only by our imagination (and yes, of course, budget!), as we have the tools and talent to evolve Mizuho’s image and influence, internally and externally, in-line with the firm’s long-term strategy.

Aside from my “day job,” one of my proudest accomplishments is co-founding the Women’s Network, which was the first employee resource group (ERG) at Mizuho globally. The establishment of M-WIN led to future ERGs in the Americas (PRIDE, MADE, MAAP, and UNIDOS) as well as the launch of the Global Women’s Network across the regions.

What do you do for fun?

I'm obsessed with the island of Anguilla—the people, the food and the stunning beaches. It's definitely my happy place.
