Mizuho Financial Group recognized by METI and TSE as a Competitive IT Strategy Company

On May 30, 2018, Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) recognized Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. (President & CEO: Tatsufumi Sakai) as a Competitive IT Strategy Company for 2018.

The Competitive IT Strategy Company designation is awarded under a program in which METI and TSE select and promote enterprises that have undertaken swift and active efforts to create new value and strengthen competitiveness through IT–driven business model adaptation.

Mizuho was recognized for wide–ranging initiatives including our promotion of financial technology innovation by leveraging cutting–edge technologies (big data, AI, blockchain, robotics, open API, etc.) and disclosure of information on our strategic use of IT. 2018 marks for the third consecutive year Mizuho has been designated as a Competitive IT Strategy Company and as an attractive enterprise for investors who prioritize medium– to long–term corporate value enhancement.

By leveraging digital technology and collaborating with external partners, we at Mizuho continue to work to create new business and provide customers with more convenient services, and will continue to engage in group–wide financial innovation initiatives to become our customers’ most trusted financial services consulting group.
