We are very pleased to announce that Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. (President & CEO: Masahiro Kihara) and four other Mizuho group companies1 have received the grand prize at the Japan Alumni Awards 2022, which was hosted by Alumni Lab.
At Mizuho, we refer to former employees as "Mizuho alumni". We are working to build an alumni network that creates new value by being a space for connection with people who are excelling outside of Mizuho.
To date, our efforts to involve employees and executive officers in promoting the growth of such a network include introducing a website where Mizuho alumni can connect, carrying out collaborative projects led by current Mizuho employees and alumni, and establishing points of contact for alumni interested in once again working at Mizuho.
At the Japan Alumni Awards 2022, Mizuho's selection as the recipient of the grand prize was due to the high appraisal our alumni-related efforts received in three main areas: 1) Contribution to reforming our corporate culture while keeping aligned with our business plan; 2) Promotion of group-wide projects with active participation from senior management while driving increased communication; and 3) Efforts being mutually beneficial for both alumni and Mizuho as a whole.
Going forward, based on the Open & Connected action principle in our 5-Year Business Plan, we will continue aiming to create new value by shaping fresh ways for Mizuho alumni to connect to Mizuho and by promoting co-creation beyond our organizational boundaries.
