Information Regarding Mizuho Financial Group's Website Change to Always–on SSL

Thank you for using Mizuho Financial Group's website.

In order to allow users to make use of our website even more securely, Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") plans to change its entire website to Always–on SSL (HTTPS) from October 9, 2016.

Always–on SSL aims to achieve even more security for users by turning on HTTPS (a form of communications encryption) for every page of the Company's website.

With the change to Always–on SSL, the Company's server certificates will change to SHA–2 encryption, and the SSL 3.0 communications protocol will be abolished in favor of TLS 1.0 and above. Therefore, if you are using any of the environments below that are no longer applicable, you may no longer be able to use the Company's website in the future. Hence, we request that you upgrade such software.

Environments that can no longer be used with Always–on SSL
OS Windows XP SP2 and earlier, Mac OS X 10.5 and earlier
Browsers Internet Explorer 6.0 (Windows XP SP2) and earlier browsers*
Safari 3 (Mac OS X 10.4) and earlier browsers
Google Chrome 1 to 37 (some OSs that include Windows XP SP2)

 

*   Browser settings [TLS settings] for Internet Explorer 6.0 (Windows XP SP3) must be changed.

When using the Company's website via a Windows OS, it is recommended that you use Internet Explorer 11, the latest version of Firefox, or the latest version of Google Chrome. If you are using Mac OS X, the Company recommends that you use the latest version of Firefox or the latest version of Safari.
