As President & CEO of Mizuho Trust & Banking, I would like to express my deep appreciation for your continued interest and support. I would also like to express my heartfelt sympathies for all of those who have contracted COVID-19 and the many people who have been impacted in various ways by the spread of the virus.

Joining minds and creating a prosperous future

We have put forward our vision for joining minds and creating a prosperous future based on our corporate culture of being self-driven and on our high levels of expertise. The vision expresses our goal of being an organization that creates a safe, secure, and sustainable future for our customers and society.

We aim to link customers’ concerns and social issues with trust solutions in order to create a prosperous future.

Presently, a low birthrate, aging society, technological advancement, evolving corporate governance reforms, and other such structural shifts, as well as factors like the outbreaks of COVID-19 variants, are leading to irreversible changes in the economy, society, and our daily lives. Going forward too, there is a high level of uncertainty regarding social conditions, given issues such as concerns over national security accompanying heightened geopolitical risks and the effects of rising prices on people’s livelihoods.

With interest in sustainability also growing worldwide, sustainability initiatives have become a significant focus for society, our customers, and Mizuho.

To respond to these factors, we are working to create new value in finance and adjacent fields by bringing together our flexibility, technology, and non-financial services towards development and provision of new trust products and services.

For retail customers:

We aim to support a variety of needs that may arise for business owners or older customers, such as smooth asset succession and business succession, building assets for life after retirement, and selecting lifestyle support services. In order to address these needs, we are working to expand the products and services we offer and provide a high level of added value through the combination of our technology with our expertise and knowledge. Additionally, we are working to provide our trust banking services to a wider range of customers through online and other channels.

For corporate clients:

Our corporate clients are confronting a range of challenges. These include revising business portfolios in line with the changes in industrial structure accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic; transitioning to a low-carbon society, which is part of the effort to achieve a sustainable society; and increasing corporate value through opportunities like those brought about by the enhancement of corporate governance and the Tokyo Stock Exchange market reorganization. To help our corporate clients respond to these challenges, we are consolidating insight and expertise from both within and outside the Mizuho group in fields such as real estate, asset securitization, pensions, and stock transfer agency services, aiming to provide the best possible trust solutions.

We will be a reliable, collaborative partner that exercises our high level of expertise and creativity and applies our innovative and outstanding ideas to benefit all stakeholders, create a prosperous future, and provide unique value that only Mizuho is capable of producing.

We appreciate your continued support and will make every effort to not only meet, but exceed, your expectations.
